ILFORD AT THE EASTERN EDGE OF LONDON

Ilford used to be in the County of Essex but now it's part of London - I think!  In anycase this is Ilford Town Centre with its town hall and pedestrian shopping area. Open air market some days of the week.

Cheery Polish workers on a break.  The cranes seen in the distance of the first picture is where they work.

And another cheery face. This time French. 'Say fromage!'

A pub with no beer.  Rather a pub that was.

And a department store that was: Woolworths that is seen a few weeks after it closed for the last time.

The Ilford theatre named for actor Kenneth Moore who was very popular in the 50s and 60s
